WHISPERS FROM PAST
The Faces of Time
Time is known for many things
For good, for bad, for moments in between.
Time builds and destroys; it nurtures and takes.
Time is forgetful.
Time is unforgiving.
Time carries us through phases,
Sweeping us forward, whether ready or not.
There was a time when you had it all under control.
A time when your cries were your only language,
The time when you taught only goodness to the world.
And a time when you had no answers, only questions.
One time, you cried because life was unfair.
Another time, you smiled,
Because life bent in your favor,
And for a fleeting moment, happiness was yours.
There was a time when nothing made sense,
And then a time when everything fell into place.
One time, I prayed to God, breaking down for a second chance
A chance to be with you.
And then, a time when I wished we’d never met.
One time, I loved the very idea of you.
There was a time when I devoured books,
Words fill the void,
Making perfect sense in a senseless world.
And there was a time I would have given anything to hold you.
But then came the moment when I had to choose
Between what I wanted and what I needed.
They say time heals all wounds,
But they forget to tell you
That scars ache too,
That pain lingers in the silence,
Long after the moments are gone.
Time carries you forward,
But the shadows of its phases
Never truly let go.
